Screen Ireland Opens Applications for Second Audience Development Fund

Screen Ireland has officially launched the second round of its Audience Development Fund, continuing its commitment to bringing independent Irish film, documentary, and animation to wider and more diverse audiences.

The fund invites applications from stakeholders and organizations with creative proposals designed to expand the reach of Irish storytelling. Eligible projects could include large-scale film events that spotlight Irish productions, new audience development initiatives, expanded festival programming, or commissioned research into audience behaviors in Ireland. Screen Ireland is also encouraging applications that focus on accessibility, such as initiatives to increase opportunities for audiences with disabilities, as well as audience testing for projects still in script development.

Unlike other supports, this fund is not intended to cover existing expenses. Instead, it is designed to help applicants launch new activities beyond their regular operations. Festival organizers or distribution companies already in receipt of Screen Ireland funding under a different scheme must ensure that they are not applying twice for the same event, activity, or item.

Applications for the Audience Development Fund are now open, with a deadline of Monday, 6th October 2025, at 1 pm.
